Organic Maps
FreeA free, open-source offline maps and navigation app built on OpenStreetMap data, with no ads or tracking.
About Organic Maps
Organic Maps is an offline map and navigation app for travel, hiking and cycling. It uses OpenStreetMap data, and you download the regions you need so that search, routing and guidance work without a connection.
The app supports driving, walking and cycling routes with turn-by-turn guidance, lets you plan, import and record routes, and shows hiking trails, elevation profiles and points of interest. The latest iOS release notes mention improved alternative routes, buttons to add or replace a stop, a setting to optimise the order of intermediate stops, and refreshed OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia data.
It suits hikers, travellers and privacy-minded users who want a lightweight map without ads. The Google Play listing declares no ads and no in-app purchases, and the app is free. Map detail depends on OpenStreetMap coverage, which is excellent in some areas and thinner in others, and live traffic is not provided. It is a lightweight choice for people who value privacy and simplicity, especially when travelling without reliable mobile data.
Download your maps before you leave on a trip. There is no live traffic, so it is not a replacement for Waze or Google Maps on busy commutes.
