About Uber
Uber is a ride-hailing app that connects riders with nearby drivers. You enter a destination, choose a ride type, see an upfront fare estimate and track the car on a map. The listings also mention Uber Eats food delivery and hotel booking inside the same app.
The app lets you schedule rides in some places, share your trip status with trusted contacts and rate drivers after a journey. Payment is handled in the app through cards or other supported methods. Available ride types, services and prices depend on the city.
It suits travellers and city residents who want on-demand transport without cash. The app is free to download, and you pay per trip or order. An account with a phone number and payment method is required. Fares can change with demand, so check the estimate before confirming. Check the pickup location, driver name and licence plate in the app each time, and use in-app safety tools if you need them.
Prices and availability differ widely by city and time of day. Always check the estimate and the driver and plate details before getting in.
