Ente Auth
FreeAn open source two-factor authenticator with end-to-end encrypted backups and apps for desktop, mobile and web.
About Ente Auth
Ente Auth is a two-factor authentication app that generates one-time codes and backs them up with end-to-end encryption. Because the backup is tied to an Ente account, the same codes can be opened on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
The app is open source and the Windows package lists the AGPL-3.0 licence. It includes quality-of-life touches such as tap to copy, a preview of the next code and secure sharing of codes with other people. Recent releases have focused on importing from other authenticators, with support for Google Authenticator exports, Aegis, Bitwarden, 2FAS and OTP Auth.
It suits people who want codes available on every device without handing them to a closed service, and who would rather not manage manual backups. The apps are free on the stores with no ads or in-app purchases listed. Because sync needs an account, you give up the account-free approach of some local-only authenticators.
Use the import options when moving from another authenticator, and verify a few codes before deleting the old app.
