MuseScore Studio
FreeFree, open source music notation software for writing, playing back and printing sheet music.
About MuseScore Studio
MuseScore Studio is a free notation editor for composing, arranging and printing sheet music. You enter notes with the mouse, keyboard or a MIDI instrument, hear them played back through a built-in sound library, and export the result as PDF, MIDI, MusicXML or audio.
It handles standard staves, tablature, lead sheets, chord symbols, lyrics and large ensemble scores, and it can import MusicXML and MIDI files from other programs. It is released under the GPL and is developed in the open by Muse Group and community contributors, so it costs nothing and needs no account for local use.
It suits students, teachers, church musicians, arrangers and composers who need clean engraving without paying for a commercial package. Note that the iOS and Android apps in the input are the separate MuseScore sheet music reader, which focuses on browsing and playing scores from the community website and has a paid PRO plan, not the desktop notation editor described here.
Do not confuse the desktop Studio with the mobile MuseScore app. The phone app is a reader with a paid PRO tier, while the editor is fully free.
