GitHub Desktop
FreeA free, open source Git client from GitHub for Windows and macOS with a visual workflow.
About GitHub Desktop
GitHub Desktop is a graphical Git client that lets you clone repositories, commit changes, switch branches, review diffs and open pull requests without typing commands. It is made by GitHub and is open source under the MIT licence.
The app is designed to make everyday Git workflows approachable. You see changed files in a list, review line-by-line differences, write commit messages, push to GitHub or other remotes, and resolve conflicts with help from your editor of choice. It is free, and signing in with a GitHub account is the smoothest path, though other Git remotes also work.
It suits beginners, designers, writers and developers who want a visual interface alongside the command line. It does not expose every Git feature, and advanced users who rely on rebases, submodules or complex history editing will still need the terminal. It is available for Windows and macOS only, with no official Linux build.
Great for learning Git workflows. Use the command line when you need advanced history operations.
