About edX
edX is an online learning platform that offers courses, programs and certificates from universities and companies. The Google Play listing describes it as an online learning platform that prepares people for every career moment, with options for every budget from free courses to professional programs.
The mobile app allows you to take courses, watch videos and follow your progress. You can register for free to discover content, and many courses can be audited, while verified certificates and some programs require payment. Subjects cover technology, business, science and the humanities.
The app is free to download and shows in-app purchases on Google Play. It suits learners who want university-style content and the choice to pay only if they need a credential. App release notes are brief, so the store listings offer little detail about changes. Because edX has changed ownership in recent years, check the current provider details on the website and confirm what is included before you pay for any program.
Audit a course first if you only want the knowledge. Confirm costs on the course page.
