About CrystalDiskInfo

CrystalDiskInfo shows the health and status of storage drives. It reads SMART attributes and reports temperature, power-on hours and an overall health assessment for hard disks and solid-state drives, with support for parts of USB, Intel RAID and NVMe, according to the winget description.

The program can run in the background, show a tray icon with temperature and send alerts when a drive's condition changes. Its latest release notes mention a fix for a false label on AMD RAID, improved Samsung enterprise SSD support, better high-DPI display and updated Croatian, Korean and Vietnamese language files.

CrystalDiskInfo suits anyone who wants an early warning about a failing drive, from home users to people checking a used disk. A good health reading does not guarantee a drive will last, so backups remain essential.

It is free and the winget manifest lists an MIT licence, with source on GitHub. It reads what the drive firmware reports, so unusual drives, enclosures or RAID controllers may show limited or missing data depending on how they expose SMART information.
