About Brilliant
Brilliant is a learning app that teaches maths, science and computer science through short, interactive problems. The Google Play listing describes it as a personalised tutor for maths and coding and notes that the content was built by experts from MIT and Harvard.
Instead of long lectures, you solve small puzzles and manipulate visuals, which makes concepts such as logic, algebra and programming easier to grasp. Lessons are short enough to fit into a commute, and the app adapts to your pace. It also offers courses on data and computer science topics.
The app is free to download, with in-app purchases and ads listed on Google Play, and full access requires a paid subscription after a trial period. That makes it a trial-style service. It suits curious adults and students who want to deepen their understanding rather than study for a specific exam. It is less suited to those who want a free resource or structured credit courses. Check the price and renewal terms before starting your trial.
Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want to pay. It teaches concepts well but does not replace a full school course.
