Blender
FreeA free, open source 3D creation suite for modelling, animation, rendering, simulation and video editing.
About Blender
Blender is a free and open source 3D creation suite. It covers the full 3D pipeline: modelling, sculpting, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and video editing, all in one application.
It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and is used by hobbyists, students, indie studios and professionals. It includes the Cycles and EEVEE render engines, and supports scripting with Python and a large add-on ecosystem. The Windows package in our data is version 5.2.2, listed under GPL-3.0-or-later.
Blender has no licence fee or subscription, and downloads come directly from blender.org. It suits anyone interested in 3D art, animation, visual effects or game assets. The interface is dense, and beginners should expect a steep start, though official and community tutorials are plentiful. Demanding scenes benefit from a modern graphics card and plenty of memory. It is developed in the open with community and corporate funding, and new versions appear regularly with notes published on the official site.
Learn the basics with the official tutorials first. A dedicated graphics card makes a large difference.
